0The American Legion, Post 17, has teamed up with the RACE4WARRIORS nonprofit to build a Veteran’s Memorial, IN THE FIRST CITY, IN THE FIRST STATE, BECAUSE VETERANS COME FIRST.

The centerpiece of the memorial is a beautiful obelisk, which was built by the 512^th Maintenance Squadron, Dover AFB, to honor our middle east veterans. There are over 7,130 dog tags within the obelisk. EACH DOG TAG REPRESENTS A VETERAN WHO HAS GIVEN THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE WHILE SERVING IN THE MIDDLE EAST. Circling the obelisk will be laser engrave bricks representing all Veterans WHO HAVE SERVICED ALL AROUND THE GLOBE SINCE WWI! They are to honor people who have passed and still with us today. 

Purchasing a brick will gain you a place in history. Bricks are not purchased for individual use (you can't take the brick home. It stays with the memorial).  As you can see in the diagram, there is only 29 8x8 bricks available, unless we expand the area. In total, we will be ordering the remainder of the bricks on May 10, 2025. We hope 50% or more are engraved. Order yours today. If ordered prior to May 13th, your brick will be in place for the dedication ceremony.   

The Veterans Memorial ceremony will be on May 26, 2025 - Memorial Day (The ceremony was delayed due to supply chain issues). Hope to see you there and hope to see your brick.
